This month, our ‘Interview with...’ is with Stuart Marshall of Oakleaf Insurance. He works for a business that helps policy holders get the best out of their claims and receive what they are fully entitled to. Keep reading to find out more.
Could you tell me more about how you help people and the type of clients you help? Oakleafe manage all claims relating to buildings both domestic and commercial. This includes Fire, EoW, Flood, Theft and Impact. At what point should someone call you to hire your services? Ideally, we need to be called on day 1. It's important that we are involved from the outset as the first 24 hours are important. We can get involved at any point but early is most important. How does the claims process work? The damage occurs. Notify your insurance company and obtain a loss assessor as early as possible. The assessor then takes over the claim, managing all aspects. Assessors manage the settlement and quantum. We can offer reinstatement from a 3rd party network. When we spoke, you said that people have insurance but aren’t insured until they make a claim on their policy. Could you explain this please? If you have a policy, which hopefully everyone has, this doesn’t mean that you're insured! The insurance company, via a loss adjuster, has to accept liability firstly, then agree to settle the claim. What advice would you give to people renewing their insurance? What should they look out for? Use a broker - do not use a comparison website. What do you love most about working for Oakleafe? The freedom that comes with the job. It’s a family business that has done well.
